- What if I don’t change my filters when I should?
Life is all about taking risks, but some risks are better than others. In this case, we don’t suggest using your filters beyond their recommended capacity. We can’t say for sure that anything bad will happen, but we can say you will run the risk of making your water quality worse rather than better. And that’s going against the whole reason of having Kube in the first place. Do yourself and your family a favor, and keep up with your filter changes. Our Filters Subscriptions program makes it so easy.
- Do I have to install Kube under my sink?
Kube was designed to fit under just about any sink in your home, condo or apartment. At a mere 13” high by 18.5” deep by 6” wide, it leaves you with enough room to still keep your cleaning supplies, watering cans, trash bags and whatever else you keep under your sink, in place.
- Can I really connect Kube myself?
Trust us. Just about anyone can connect Kube, even those who are mechanically inept. If you can use a wrench, cut the drinking-water-grade, plastic tubing and adjust a few fittings, you’ll do just fine. You don’t have to worry about the connections either. Kube uses push-fit connectors that adapt to standard compression fittings found in most homes. Just follow our easy-to-understand connection instructions to connect your Kube. (We won’t tell anyone you actually looked at them.) In fact, we want you to read them. Or watch our demonstration video to see how easy it really is. But you don’t have to do anything you really don’t want to. If the thought of connecting Kube yourself gives you a rash, you can contact your local Kinetico dealer (check our dealer listing to locate yours) and make arrangements to have them do it for you.
- How much money can I save with Kube?
We did the math for you, now you decide which makes more sense. Keep in mind, we didn’t put a price on your time to make or purchase/transport your water.
Here’s the scoop on what things cost:
- Kube Water = 4 cents per gallon
- Pitcher Filter = 20 cents per gallon
- Faucet Filter = 19 cents per gallon
- Bottled Water = 63 cents per gallon
- What does Kube remove from water?
Most water filters only address taste, odor and issues with class 1 particulates such as sediment. Kube takes care of those and more. Kube is certified by WQA to NSF/ANSI standards to remove other contaminants that could be in your water like lead, mercury, MTBE, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), even microbial cysts like Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Read the full list of contaminants Kube is certified to reduce.
- Why is there a removable tray built into the bottom of Kube?
Just like trays found on refrigerator water dispensers, Kube’s tray catches any residual water from changing the cartridges or putting Kube in by-pass mode. To empty, simply slide the tray straight out.
- Can Kube’s cartridges come loose?
Don’t worry about your youngster’s curious hands or that the cartridges will come loose with continued use. Kube’s cartridges have a twist and lock feature and are additionally secured by the by-pass control knob, so they won’t come loose unintentionally.
- How will I know when I should change Kube’s filters?
Every Kube has a filter life indicator on the top/front of the system which tracks your water usage. When your filters are nearing the end of their filtration capabilities, the indicator bar will change from blue to red. Since this could sneak up on you, we recommend you sign up for our Kube Filter Subscription, or always keep a spare set on hand.
- How long do Kube replacement filters last?
It really all depends on how much you use your Kube water. Kube’s replacement filters are certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA) to NSF/ANSI standards to remove what we say it will remove for 1,665 US gallons or 6,300 liters. An average household of four can expect the filters to last six months to one year. Just keep an eye on your Kube filter life indicator. It will let you know when filter replacements are needed.
- If Kube water flows from my regular faucet, will I be using it for everything?
The answer is no. You’ll be using Kube water for the things that matter most to you, like drinking, watering pets and plants, cooking/baking and such. But you won’t be using Kube water when you’re using hot water to wash at the sink. Granted, we understand you’ll occasionally have a blend of hot water and Kube water, but the use of Kube water will be minimal. If you want, a simple turn of a knob will switch your Kube to by-pass, so you won’t get any treated water out of your faucet.
- How can I be sure Kube will do what you say it will do?
You don’t have to take our word for it. Kube is certified by the Water Quality Association to NSF/ANSI standards to significantly reduce a broad range of contaminants. The certification also verifies only safe materials are used to make Kube and that it will perform as we claim. Since many contaminants are colorless, tasteless and odorless, it may be hard to tell if your filter is doing its job. That’s why it’s especially important to purchase a product you can count on.
- What makes it different from other water filters?
Kube is certified to filter more; from lead and mercury to pesticides and industrial pollutants, Kube has you covered. You’ll have an unlimited supply of great water without a wait, and Kube water will dispense at a full flow from your existing faucet. Kube is economical, convenient and easy to use, so forget about other filters and discover the Kube difference.
- I've never heard of Kube. What is it?
You may not be familiar with Kube because it’s brand new, but soon, everyone will be talking about it. Unlike any other water filter on the market, Kube fits conveniently under your kitchen sink (or any other sink in your house for that matter) and connects to your cold water line. Your cold water runs through Kube where it is filtered and then dispensed from your existing faucet. You don’t need to attach anything to your faucet, push any buttons to get filtered water, drill any holes to install an additional faucet or mess with filling a pitcher. Once Kube is installed, just turn on your tap and enjoy your filtered water.
